On January 3rd 2013 we had posted a picture of the run down Rest House near Ludhiana where the last Maharaja of Punjab Dulip Singh spent his last night on the soil of Punjab, never to return. Finally now as you can see in the video the Government of India has stepped in and repaired the building with plans to turn it into a museum. Hopefully Punjab Government will also start spending some money on repairing and fixing some of our other Historical and Heritage buildings.
Rest House near Ludhiana where Maharaja Duleep Singh spent his last night on the soil of Punjab on Dec 21 1849, he was never able to return to the land of his ancestors and his kingdom. While the government of Punjab constructs new monuments no care is being taken of such historical buildings, which can be saved and turned into museums etc. When will we the people of Punjab wake up and start saving what’s left of our Heritage.
